There are several reasons why people slow down or discountinue therapy as the summer hits. Vacations come up, summer sports, busy with the kids and the best and most promising one: they feel better once the sun is shining and 80 degree temps are consistent. I agree that summer time may make it more difficult to keep your therapy visits regular. However, please do no forget the progress that you have made up until this point. Utilize those skills and what you have learned while taking a hiatus. Please keep in mind, I do not encourage completely stopping treatment in the summer. I recommend continued care in order to feel your best self. Also be very aware of what you are doing in the summer that is making you feel better. It is those things that we need to remember, adjust and implement as the summer winds down. Enjoy the summer, but please continue to engage in self care.
